The Chisel haben es vor Kurzem mit ihrem Elton John Cover vorgemacht, nun schließt sich der Rest des Ensembles an. Pure Noise Records haben in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bierproduzenten Pabst Blue Ribbon die zweite Ausgabe ihrer „Dead Formats“ Compilation veröffentlicht. Darauf sind insgesamt 15 Coverversionen berühmter Klassiker zu finden. U.a. versuchen sich The Bouncing Souls and „In The Dark“ von Toots And The Maytals, Mugshot an „Get This“ von Slipknot oder Action/Adventure an „Hanging By A Moment“ von Lighthouse.
Dass Bier und Punk eine Symbiose eingehen ist nichts Neues, von daher erstaunt die Partnerschaft zwischen Label und Brauerei nur bedingt. Und immerhin scheint seitens Pabst Blue Ribbon eine echte Begeisterung für das entstandene Werk zu bestehen.
