The Lawrence Arms haben mit „Skeleton Coast“ ihr erstes neues Album seit sechs Jahren angekündigt. Dies wird am 17. Juli erscheinen. Daraus präsentiert die Punkrock-Band nun mit „Last, Last Words“ eine neue Single nebst Video. Zuvor wurde bereits der Song „PTA“ ins Rennen geschickt.
Sänger und Gitarrist Chris McCaughan über „Last, Last Words“:
„(The track) is about coming to terms with your own obscurity – but like, in a pretty upbeat way. It’s an escape dream to an edge of the world while being strangely content with some undergrown adulthood. It’s part undercover love song to the sometimes beautiful randomness of the universe and part offbeat, comical reminder to keep rewriting your unknown future. Like so much of the record, the song chases tiny flashes of light in the darkness.”
Die insgesamt 14 Songs hat die Band in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Langzeitproduzenten Matt Allison innerhalb von zwei Wochen aufgenommen, allerdings erstmals in den Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas.
