Boston Manor präsentieren nach einigen Teasern heute ihren neuen Song „Everything Is Ordinary“ und kündigen ihr neues Album „Glue“ an, das am 01. Mai via Pure Noise Records erscheinen wird. Einen ersten Vorgeschmack darauf hatte es bereits im letzten Jahr mit der Single „Liquid“ gegeben, auf der John Floreani von Trophy Eyes als Gastmusiker zu hören ist. Über den neuen Song sagt Sänger Henry Cox:
„“Everything Is Ordinary“ is about how we’re desensitized to all of these major, major problems that exist in the world today. We’ve seen literally everything so nothing really strikes us as worrying or scary any more and, essentially, everything is ordinary to us. I was mostly thinking about the environmental crisis when we wrote this but it does apply to a lot of things that are happening right now.”
„Glue“ ist damit der Nachfolger von „Welcome To The Neighbourhood“ (Albumreview), das 2018 erschienen war. „Glue“ ist neues Terrain für die Band, wie sie erklärt. Das Ziel war es, Komfort-Zonen zu verlassen und sich nicht an Erwartungen festzumachen. Sänger Henry Cox über das Album:
“It’s a lot more abrasive and a weirder record. It’s just new territory for us. The whole point was to throw away any preconceived notions of what the band is and push ourselves out of our comfort zone.”
