Social Distortion sind im kommenden Sommer nach fünf langen Jahren endlich wieder in Deutschland unterwegs. Am 25. Juni stoppen die Musiker aus Orange County auch im Capitol in Hannover. Frontmann Mike Ness verspricht: authentische Sounds, authentische Bilder, authentische Geschichten von Outlaws, Autos und Gitarren. Mit im Gepäck haben die Musiker die Newcomer UK-Punkrock-Band Grade 2. Deren im Herbst 2019 veröffentlichtes Album „Graveyard Island“ (Albumreview) wurde von Tim Armstrong (Rancid/Transplants) produziert, für den Mix war Kevin Bivona (The Interrupters) verantwortlich. Die Zusammenarbeit mit Tim beschreibt Bassist und Sänger Sid Ryan folgendermaßen:
“He’s one of the most efficient people we’ve ever worked with. He knows exactly what he wants. In the studio, he wanted to capture how we sound onstage, so we were tracking songs live with a scratch vocal. “Although we’re more than forty years on from when punk began, I actually think the times are very similar now to how they were back then. The political climate today means that people see the worst in everything, which means that for us there’s a lot to write about. Everything in the country is pretty much turning to shit! There are certain parts of our record that would make sense were it released in 1976.”
