Die Death Metal Szene darf sich über eine neue Band freuen: Umbra Vitae ist das Projekt von Jacob Bannon (Converge, Wear Your Wounds), Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord, Wear Your Wounds), Sean Martin (ex-Hatebreed, Wear Your Wounds, Twitching Tongues), Greg Weeks (The Red Chord, Labor Hex) und Jon Rice (ex-Job for a Cowboy, Uncle Acid). Am 01. Mai wird die Band ihr Debüt „Shadow Of Life“ veröffentlichen.
Der Bandname stammt von einem Buch von Georg Heym, das 1912 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Debütalbum wird insgesamt zehn Songs umfassen.
Einen ersten Vorgeschmack gibt es mit der Single „Return To Zero“, die Ihr Euch weiter unten anhören könnt. Frontmann Jacob Bannon sagt über den neuen Song im Revolver Mag:
„‚Return to Zero‘ is about removing resistance in one’s life in order to be best version of ‚you‘ that one can be. I feel that this is a relatable topic for many. What resistance is and how it manifests is unique to every single one of us. For me, this is a constant process and essential to being a better husband, father, friend, artist and human.
