Converge teilen die nächste Single aus „Bloodmoon: I“

In gut zwei Wochen veröffentlichen Converge ihr neues Gemeinschaftsalbum „Bloodmoon: I“. Mit „Coil“ gibt es darauf nach „Blood Moon“ nun einen weiteren Vorgeschmack. Das Werk ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit Chelsea Wolfe, Ben Chisholm und Stephen Brodsky.

Zwar kam das Bedürfnis nach einem gemeinsamen Projekt schon 2016 auf, aber die Zeitpläne der Künstler ließen sich lange nicht vereinbaren. Nun aber ist es etwas geworden und das Ergebnis gibt es am 19. November zu hören.
Produziert wurde das Album von Converge-Gitarrist Kurt Ballou. Alle Künstler sind sich einig, dass sie über ihr eigenen Grenzen gehen und ihr Blickfeld erweitern mussten, um dieses Album zu erschaffen. Über Coil findet Converge-Frontmann Jacob Bannon folgende Worte:

‚Coil‘ turned out to be one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of. There is an infectious slow build that ends up becoming theatrical in tone. Lyrically it was a true collaboration, with all of us expanding on each other’s ideas as they came to be. I believe Chelsea’s vocal was the starting point in that for this one. Kurt really pushed vocal harmonies to a new level as well. Encouraging many of Steve’s ideas while we were in the studio tracking together.
