Prophets Of Rage haben für den 15. September ihr selbtbetiteltes Debütalbum angekündigt. Mit „Unfuck The World“ schickt die politisch ambitionierte Band einen ersten Vorboten ins Rennen.

Das dazugehörige Video zur Single stammt aus der Feder von niemand geringerem als Michael Moore: „I am thrilled to once again be working with my old friends and comrades in the struggle for a just world,” so Moore. “Prophets Of Rage is the right band, saying the right shit, at this very critical moment. This music video is our collective battle cry against those who seek to harm the innocent and the powerless. I am proud to have directed this video and I ask all who see it do their part to unfuck this world. ALL HANDS ON DECK!“
Die Band gründete sich 2016 als Reaktion auf den Wahlkampf um den neuen US-Präsidenten. Die Band wollte dem jetzigen Präsidenten Donald Trump etwas entgegensetzen und sich gegen den wachsenden Rechtspopulismus stark machen. Auch in der neuen Single „Unfuck The World“ streuen die Prophets Of Rage ein klares Statement: „The world’s not going to change itself, that’s up to you.“
„We’re making music in the way that bands made music back in the day.“
Brad Wilk über das Album: „When we first got together, we were playing songs from our catalogue, but we were also playing new grooves, with everyone improvising. And that felt really good. Soon there was a language that all of us speak.“ Tim Commerford weiter: „We went on tour and got good as a band. We’re making music in the way that bands made music back in the day.“
Im Juni werden die Prophets Of Rage einige Liveshows im deutschsprachigem Raum spielen, nachdem sie am vergangenen Wochenende zu Gast auf dem Rock Am Ring und Rock Im Park Festival waren.
