Das Punk-Trio Lambrini Girls aus Brighton ließ verlauten, uns im Mai ihre Debüt-EP um die Ohren zu hauen. 2022 brachten die Damen ihre Single „Help Me I’m Gay“ heraus und nun, im Zuge der Ankündigung, folgt die nächste: „White Van“. Ein Song, der sich deutlich an alle Cat-Caller richtet.
We’re taught, systemically, that it’s our sole responsibility to prevent our harassment. ‚What were you wearing?’ or ‘you shouldn’t have walked home by yourself’, implies our body in a public place is considered public property. That if we do not modify our behaviour in everyday life to protect ourselves, then it’s our fault entirely. Die EP umfasst acht energie- und wutgeladene Songs, zwei davon als Live-Versionen. „You’re Welcome“ erscheint am 19. Mai via Big Scary Monsters.
Außerdem startet das Trio an diesem Wochenende eine ausgedehnte UK und Euro-Tour. Einen Zwischenstopp in Deutschland legen sie nach aktuellem Stand allerdings nicht ein.
