„Pete’s music has inspired generations of musicians over a career that spanned five decades“

Die Band selbst berichtet via Twitter, dass Shelley „one of the UK’s most influential and prolific songwriters and co-founder of the seminal original punk band Buzzcocks“ war und ergänzt auf Facebook „Pete’s music has inspired generations of musicians over a career that spanned five decades and with his band and as a solo artist, he was held in the highest regard by the music industry and by his fans around the world“.

I remember seeing the Buzzcocks so many times when I was a kid, they were one of those rare bands where it seemed like literally every song they played was a classic, And I mean every song, they would start and every song you would be like YES!!!!!! They were probably the best Punk Pop band ever, and they made it ok to be a punk and a nerd at the same time lol just kidding, but seriously, when everybody else was worried about looking punk and having safety pins in their noses and being outrageous, these guys just wrote great songs, Im lucky to have had them in my youth. Pete Shelley Thanks for the music and the great memories R.I.P #rip #buzzcocks #peteshelley
