Rund zehn Jahre ist es her, seit die US-Post Hardcore Band Touché Amoré ihr Album „…To The Beat Of A Dead Horse“ veröffentlichte. Dieses Jubiläum feiert die Band rund um Sänger Jeremy Bolm mit einer Special Deluxe Vinyl Edition des Albums „Dead Horse X„, an der sie ein ganzes Jahr gearbeitet hat und die auf 1500 Exemplare limitiert ist. Diese Edition enthält zwei LPs – einmal das Original-Album sowie eine neu aufgenommene Version, die die Band gemeinsam mit Zach Tuch und Kurt Balou (Converge) aufgenommen und gemixt hat. Als Grund nennen Touché Amoré dafür folgendes:
„Mostly its because we physically couldn’t remix and remaster the 2009 version due to all the files being lost when the hard drive containing them crashed. We also just loved the idea of Elliot and Tyler getting to play on this album as they weren’t in the band at the time. We wanted the songs to sound like how we’ve been playing them these last bunch of years. Faster and with more energy.“
Auch Geoff Rickly (Thursday) und Jeff Eaton (Modern Life Is War) haben ihre Gastparts auf dem Album neu aufgenommen. Die Deluxe-Version des Albums enthält außerdem ein 148-seitiges Buch, das den Werdegang der Band von der Gründung bis zum 2011er Album „Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me“ dokumentiert. Für das Vorwort zeigt sich Geoff Rickly verantwortlich. Das Buch enthält außerdem Fotos, Flyer und sogar eine E-Mail eines Bandmitglieds, das so seinen Austritt aus der Band bekannt gab.
